John Fowler

John Fowler & Co. (Leeds) Ltd was a famous British builder of steam and diesel locomotives. They were a dominant supplier of steam locomotives to the Queensland sugar industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

History

Fowler steam locomotives were synonymous with the early days of cane haulage. They produced 0-6-0T, 0-6-2T, and 0-4-2T designs. In later years, Bundaberg Foundry built Fowler designs under licence.
