Malcolm Moore was an Australian engineering company that supplied numerous small internal combustion locomotives, particularly during the World War II era and immediate post-war period.

History

Many Malcolm Moore locomotives were originally built for the Commonwealth Government (Department of Supply) during WWII and were later sold to sugar mills as surplus. They were typically small, 4-wheel diesel-mechanical units powered by Ford V8 engines, though many were later re-engined.

Models

  • 4wDM: 4-wheel Diesel Mechanical.
  • Model 1025 / 1060 etc.: Often referred to by their serial or job numbers.
